Happy Feet

For nine months of the school year, the Club provides children that appear to need shoes a new pair of shoes and 3 pairs of socks. The recipient school selects these students for the Club. We partner with Payless Shoe Source, who provides us with a 15% discount off all store purchases. The shoes and socks are ordered from a nearby Payless Shoe Source store and delivered to the school by Rotarian’s who help each student try on the new shoes for size and fit. Payless Shoe Source selects the style of shoe based on the age and sex of the student. We currently work with Ruby Thomas and Dean Petersen Elementary “At Risk” schools. The Club distributes 500 pairs of shoes during a school year. It is a gratifying and rewarding program to provide shoes to these wonderful students. Sometimes we notice that we are replacing shoes that we distributed the previous year. The students are happy, grateful and excited – and so are we. Here are some pictures of a current delivery.
